There are one hundred essays in Baking Style: Art, Craft, Recipes. Each essay accompanies a single recipe or a group of recipes. The essays and their attendant recipes are grouped into chapters. The arrangement and names of the chapters are unusual as they do not follow “standard” (and may I say, very tired and antiquated) baking cookbook divisions. Each essay in my forthcoming book is a story–be it short or long. The essay describes the recipe, how it came to be, its personal and/or social implications, an interesting technique or method, or any special twist that makes it appealing. One engaging element of Baking Style is that the book conveys my personal approach to baking in a type of diary-styled format and you, the reader/baker, will be encouraged to create your own type of journal or daybook of recipes, rather like a baking scrapbook. I created a template for you to use in order to do just that. Visitors of baking style diary, thank you for your enthusiasm and good wishes.
